These fungi were growing on a fallen log on the bank of a stream. They were soft and flexible to the touch. Maybe 2.5 to 3 inches across.

I'm not sure these are Pleurotus ostreatus... They are too thin. I believe them to be closer to Pleurocybella spec., which you should not eat!

thanks Joseph... i should have picked them... I love oyster mushrooms. These looked a little different to the ones I know, so wasn't sure...
