Plumaje pardo con puntos negros, mancha o pequeña franja blanca en las alas diferente a la franja de la tórtola aliblanca, también presente en la isla. Mancha violeta claro en el cuello, mide hasta 12". Light brown feathers with black dots, shows a white spot or little white stripe on the wing, different from the stripe of Zenaida asiatica, also in Puerto Rico. Light violet spot on the neck; measures up to 12".
