Oreamnos americanus
One of two types of all white hoofed mammals found in Alaska (the other being Dall Sheep). Easily distinguished by their small black horns. Males average close to 300 lbs. while females average close to 200 lbs.
Rocky and sometimes icy mountain ledges.
I was able to hike a little closer to some mountain goats this time, and the kid is just too adorable not to post. I did see a whole herd of Dall Sheep on this same hike, but the photo was at almost ten times the distance of this one. So, I won't post that one unless I don't see any more this trip.
