Tiger Moth Larva

Description:

An orange and black Tiger Moth larva, almost full grown. At this time of the year, just before winter, these larvae are out wandering about oxygenating their tissues prior to pupation. About 2 cm long. Family Erebidae, Subfamily Arctiinae.

Habitat:

Semi-urban area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, 2,200 meters.
