Six-Spotted Fishing Spider

Dolomedes triton

Description:

Six-Spotted Fishing Spider (AKA: Fishing Spider, Nursery Web Spider, or Raft Spider) floating down a waterway that spills Into the Alabama River. Though the poor lighting and swift current really hurt the focus on this shot, I liked the way the spider's legs made a flower-like impression on the water's surface.

Thanks! Though I snapped the photo, it was my son who actually noticed this guy floating down the river. He is thrilled to see so many people enjoyed seeing it as he did!
