looks like this is a Merlin. Not very large in size.It has been visiting us frequently .Yesterday I saw it eating something.Pic taken with cell phone.M<y camera fell with me while hiking and is dead. The broad chest and tail points towards a merlin.

With how orange this bird is I would say it's an American Kestrel, but can't be sure because of the photo quality.
