Reithrodontomys megalotis

Description:

A very small mouse with a dark brown back, orange sides, white belly, and a long, slender, well-furred, bicolored tail. Unlike other murids (true mice), harvest mice have grooved upper incisors; the unrelated jumping mice (Dipodidae) and pocket mice (Heteromyidae) also share this feature.
