Rustic Sphinx Moth

Manduca rustica rustica

Notes:

Success: I finally found a native species that eats privet, which is one of the South's most pernicious, invasive exotics. On top of that, maybe they'll eat the privet instead of my tomatoes. The caterpillars of this sphynx moth are tomato horn worms: www.silkmoths.bizland.com/cundulos.htm

Thanks! I've been chronicling the biodiversity in my yard since the city of chattanooga took me to court 3 times to make me destroy my habitat rebuilding project. All three cases were dismissed. But this kind of project to increase diversity should be encouraged, not get you hammered in court on a regular basis: https://www.facebook.com/groups/18219052...
