Sphodromantis viridis
It is probably an injured Mantis but still, its strategy "absolute immobility and lightning attack" is clearly shown in the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL26f4XE...)
Spotted in a suburban area with gardens and trees. Though an African species can be found in the Mediterranean countries of Europe.
Soundtrack from "Cicadas Jazz Band" (which cicada btw, is a gulp for mantis - see relevant pictures of Stavros Apostolou here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=... gm.1537744042980052 & type = 3 & theater & ifg = 1).

Your welcome, Tania17....🌻
Brian, maplemoth, thank you!
After the correction of @DespinaTsafetopoulou the species changed: it is the African (Sphodromantis viridis) and not the European (Mantis religiosa) mantis.
However both are 'praying mantis' species.
Thanks Despina :)
Three, very pretty photos....
Great pictures and spotting Tania!
