Bold Jumping Spider

Phidippus audax

Description:

A rather large jumping spider found on our spigot. He was rather shy, and would scurry around the knob in an attempt to hide. There was a striking iridescent blue on his face, and a large white spot on his back. He would stick up his front legs when he felt threatened.

Habitat:

Found on a spigot, above a large bed of creeping myrtle.

Thank you for the species suggestion and for catching my mission mistake. I feel quite foolish.

Likely a bold jumping spider, Phidippus audax. You should remove this from the "Insects that live in Connecticut" mission as spiders are arachnids, not insects. Thank you!
