Bulky pig with relatively thin legs; head good for digging, elongated nose with strong neck muscles - good for digging; dark grey to blackish coat, with coarse hair; face, cheeks and throat have whitish markings; stiff mane of 'hog bristles' along the back; more prominent canine teeth, more in male; piglets have stripes on back for approx. first 6 months Photo taken at Kanha Tiger Reserve, MP-India

All over India - from Rain forest to deciduous to mixed forest; through out the length and breath of India
