You may not be able to tell from the pictures, but this species actually lays its eggs on bare branches, instead of within a nest. Although they do tend to lay where branches meet or on a knot in a branch, this seems to me to be a dangerous technique in hurricane territory.

Some bird species forgo laying in nests to avoid parasites, which can cause the parents to abandon the nests.
