A beautiful caterpillar....
Sorry to announce folks that this caterpillar disappeared. It could have been eaten by birds. I was waiting for it to pupate only to find out one morning that its gone.
Diane its also called Lime Swallowtail.
Oh yes, I should have paid attention to the name. It is closely related to quite a few of our swallowtails.
Thanks Diane. It feeds on citrus plants.
Nice series. This larva reminds me of our Spicebush swallowtail. Can't wait to see the adult pics. What food plant does this larva eat?
Thanks Scott
Very nice series, Jolly!
You are welcome Ashish. I will wait for it to pupate before transferring to a container to wait for the emergence. Right now it is still feeding.
Hope you keep it in foot long size bigger container. Post its Pupa stage and emerging shots.... Well done jolly sharing your experience with us.
Thanks KarenL, hello.alegriia and PerilsOfPlastic. I'm still waiting for it to pupate and document all the way to its emergence.
