A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Junonia atlites
This butterfly is distributed in the Oriental region except in Philippines.
It is common everywhere in the island up to about 3500 feet except in North. It may be seen in large numbers in open fields and grasslands, particularly close to waterways such as rice fields, canals, tanks and marshy areas. It is more habitat specific species than the other pansies and hence has become the least common of the pansies. It is not plentiful but may be found throughout the year. Can be see on Maana grass and a frequest visitor to Maana.
