American Dipper

Cinclus mexicanus

Description:

Medium small brown bird known for being in fast moving water. Equipped with a short tail to use as a rudder and white feathers on it's eye lids to protect it's eyes, these birds brave the rush.

Habitat:

Though not uncommon to be in the area and not uncommon to find in the water. What was uncommon that it was spotted in a pond that was not far from the fast moving creek that it would normally be in.
