Red-shouldered Hawk

Buteo lineatus

Description:

Probably the same hawk as this one spotted the day before: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/160... I hope that these sightings indicate that the RSHs will nest in my backyard again! I have read that they return to the same nest - so fingers crossed! :)

Notes:

In my neighbor's yard.

I must admit, my garden in my old house looked a LOT like yours! but, we had to move. I had to say goodbye to the shrews and the Goldcrest, and my flock of Long-Tailed-Tits... :(
