Bostrychia hagedash
A large and stout brown ibis with iridescent bronze wing covers. Grey or brown head without crest; face with white line between the eye and the bill. Red ridge on upper mandibule of dark grey bill.
Very common around the lake Awassa. Roosts in trees, and spend days roaming in neighboring swampy woodland and clearings, usually in smaller groups. Seen also in mixed groups with other ibises (Sacred and Wattled).
