Indo-Pacific Spotted Eagle Ray/ hīhīmanu

Aetobatus ocellatus

Habitat:

Spotted this ray in the Ala Wai canal on a particularly murky day. I've cleaned up the pictures the best I can, but haven't seen it since so sadly I haven't been able to get a better picture.

These are so fun to see. Have you been able to spot them elsewhere on Oahu yet? During the time I lived there we saw them from the shore at Pearl Harbor Canal, and also while snorkeling at Waimea Bay and Electric Beach. Good luck finding either this one, or another!
