Junonia lemonias
This butterfly is found in Sri Lanka, India to China and Taiwan. It flies both in new and old worlds. The written information gathered from the link given bellow http://www.wildreach.com/butterflies/Jun...
It is considered as the most common pansy, found everywhere up to about 2000 feet in the dry and intermediate zones. The species are very hardly, surviving in the quite viable populations long after the natural vegetation has been ruined by mankind. They are almost always the only butterflies to be found in vacant lots with lots of sunshine and are seen year round in deserted gardens, overgrown estates, forested areas and scrub land.
