Description:

Silvery white with about 8 faint dark bars on side; pelvic and anal fins yellowish. The mouth is highly extensible, pointing downward when protruded. Maximum size about 41 cm.

Habitat:

Inhabits sand bottoms adjacent to reefs; also entering brackish estuaries. Buddy's Reef and La Machaca dive sites. Bonaire.
