Blue Carpenter Bee

Xylocopa caerulea

Habitat:

Seen on a hike to some waterfalls near the town of Sungai Medang, on the edge of the Kerinci Seblat National Park, Sumatra, Indonesia.

Notes:

I was shocked when I saw this strikingly blue bee fly by us on our walk. Managed to get a few blurry shots before it flew off.

So beautiful color! I've seen this bee before.. It was flying into my house then I immediately took my camera. But sadly, I didn't get the photo, you're lucky to found this bee twice! Thanks for sharing :)
