Description:

A heron of tropical and subtropical wetlands characterized by a blue-gray body, reddish-brown head and neck, dark legs, and (in breeding plumage) a pink bill with a dark tip. There also exists a rare all-white white phase that is distinguished from the various white egret species by its pink bill.

Nice shot, John! I've seen them in Florida, but missed the one at Bolsa Chica when I was there. One of my favorite birds!
