Metatrichia vesparium
Fruiting bodies (sporangia) of a multigoblet slime mold. They had thin stalks with black, shiny goblets on top. A few already had red, fluffy spore masses coming out of the goblets, while others had not yet released the spores. They were 2mm tall.
Growing on rotting wood beside a swamp in a deciduous forest.
