Texas Thistle

Description:

The flower head of a Texas Thistle. You can see the pollen on all the tips. A close look (these were taken with a macro lens) shows the pretty 5-pointed-star shape of all the individual flowers on this flower head.

Habitat:

Grows wild in a mostly sunny area on my rural property
