Description:

Velvety, thin, flexible tough fibrous and persisting. Concentric zones of different colors, white, buff, yellow, brown, reddish, blue, and even black. History of medicinal use in some Asian cultures

Habitat:

Growing extensively on hardwood substrates and rarely on conifers.

Notes:

Found growing on a log on the side of a trail. May be this: Stereum ostrea I'm still new to identifying fungi.
