Pied-billed Grebe

Description:

For the bay area this is the only true resident Grebe species. Due to the climate change some of the other Grebes are sticking around longer. Mostly brown in color with gray bill that has a black ring. The other bird in the image is actually the immature or older chick that is slowly coming into adult color.

Habitat:

This was found in pond at Coyote Hills
