Habitat:

Found in heathland, on oak leaves

Notes:

About every 30 to 40 years it comes to outbreaks. The overpopulation usually collapses because of illness. then you have for a long time the impression the cockchafer died out. A culinary specialty early 1900: cockchafer soup. Without wings and legs they were roasted in butter and then cooked, for example in chicken broth
