Golden-backed Snipe Fly

Chrysopilus thoracicus

Description:

Though annoying fly, it is very good looking. The dark veined wings and gold back. It preys on other insects but could bite humans. When I spotted them they seem to come in numbers and land on anything.

Habitat:

Spotted in a forest of Shawnee
