Rentz's Praying Mantis

Ciulfina rentzi

Description:

Juvenile mantis to 25mm long. Found on night/spotlighting session.

Habitat:

Cleared bushland, individual trees dot the area, grass surrounding. James Cook University, Cairns Campus.

Notes:

I joined Dave Rentz and Buck Richardson, light trapping on the JCU campus. We are all keen macro photographers so we clicked away at everything that moved. At the end of the night, viewing my photos I asked Dave what it my little mantid was. I was very happy to learn it was one that was named after him!
