Leafhopper

Huleria sp.

Description:

Undescribed Huleria species!!! Lovely little Leafhopper with bright red eyes and black markings on the face. The wings are like stained glass.

Habitat:

This hopper was under a porch light in oak woodland near grassland

Notes:

From BugGuide: James Zahniser says, "Very interesting! "This is very probably an undescribed species of Huleria. Currently, the genus only includes one described species, H. quadripunctata. Incidentally, I live in San Diego, near where the specimen was photographed. Any chance the photographer has any specimens? I would love to see them."
