Unnamed spotting

Description:

This photo was posted by my sister this am, I thought it looked like the eastern garter snake but the head is throwing me. I was wondering if anyone could help with identification?

ChucknLilaCrandellHewitt, it is flattening its head to look intimidating (to scare potential predators). It is a harmless Garter Snake as Lisa suggested. :-)

Looks like rattlesnake

Many snakes will flatten the head to try and look intimidating.
