Description:

Fringed polygala is a beautiful, orchid-like wildflower that emerges from creeping, partly underground stems. It's a low plant, growing no taller than 7". The flower has 3 pink petals, which form a tube with a finely fringed pink crest.

Habitat:

Spotted in a mixed forest growing along a nature trail.
