Orange succulent

Gasteria sp.

Description:

A beautiful succulent I spotted today, at a friend's house. I believe it must be a Gasteria species, and most likely a "gasteria pillansii v. pillansii". I asked my friend but she said it belonged to the old ownwer of her house, and she had no idea of the exact species. Only that it was a very old plant. Height about 80cm, with a 20cm woody -10cm wide- "trunk", and clusters of long bicolor leaves changing from ash green when young, to bright orange, on the lower/older levels...

Notes:

A Australian garden spider had covered all the plant with it's web, and it was a rainy day today, that's why the plant has this dusty/dirty appearance.
