Blue-winged teal female

Anas discors

Description:

At first glance this appeared to be a Florida mottled duck like many we have here. But her beak is longer and shaped differently and it has a light tip which doesn't seem right. She also has lighter colored speculum feathers. Could she be a blue-winged teal female with her little family, or some sort of mixed breed?

Habitat:

Along an inland fresh water canal in western Boca Raton, FL.

Notes:

Others have suggested that this is really a mottled duck after all but something tells me otherwise.
