Medium sized owl with brown back and lighter front and face, no clear face-circle like some owls. Apologies for the poor photo, these guys usually catch me by surprise!
South east Queensland, urban, suburban, open forests, bushlands.
There is also a powerful owl in the area but the immediate locality of my house seems to be the turf of the Boobooks.
