Pieris napi
Two large white butterflies mating
Urban garden, close to mixed forest
Ah yes, same thing I do when I have two very similar species and only a small spot or shape is the only thing that differ, one time I spent 2-3 hrs trying to figer out a butterfly, and ultimately got it wrong :)
No problem :) They're easy to mix up, but as luck would have it, I found one ovipositing last week and spent a long time staring at photos of their wings :)
Thanks for correcting me, I was sure it was one out of two kinds, but I was wrong. Corrected my mistake just now :) Thanks again!
Great shot :) With the heavily-marked veins on the wings there, I think these are green-veined whites (Pieris napi).
