Description:

It looked quite bland on first glance, but in the right light it shone metallic green. It also had one black spot on each side of its body. chrysorrhoeus = 'oozing gold'

This is one of the Shield-backed Bugs (Scutelleridae). It may be Diolcus chrysorrhoeus, but several of the bugs in this family are marked with those prominent spots on the sides of the scutellum.
