Pittosporum bicolor
A small tree with multiple narrow trunks; about 6 metres tall; covered in clusters of green berries about 18mm long and with red-orange fleshy centres. Long opposite leaves in tight clusters also.
Growing apparently wild near walking track.
I could find no sign of any wild creatures having tasted these. The last pic is of mature fruits on another plant within 1 km A local endemic also called 'Tallow-wood'. 3-10m x 2-4m Has been known to hybridise with P undulata or 'Sweet pittosporum'
Thanks Jason. The Banyalla and the Cheesewood are two different species. Banyalla is P bicolor. Chesewood is P undulata.
