It is erroneosly named Sirobasidium brefeldianum in Fuhrer's aust guide (2005) Named Leucolgloea compressa in Tasmanian Field Guide - G. Gates

I would never have known they where fungal , without the Tas Field Guide , and know what to look for , they are kinda really WEIRD! My ring flash has given them little eye's ..hahha

Freak show! I don't know what to make of them, but they keep looking at me. This is an amazing spotting. You certainly have some amazing species down Tassie way.
