This one was about 1 3/4 long and was in my backyard. we get these all the time in fall and spring. They are mistaken for Monarchs and also Painted Ladies due to their black and orange and white spots.

Habitat:

Mainly live in very wooded wet areas, backyards, parks, and moist fields
