Description:

Lovely long-bodied wasp, brick red in color with silver highlights. About the size of a black and yellow mud dauber.

Habitat:

Happened upon this female excavating a burrow in soil beneath a small shrub at a major road intersection in a mostly urban habitat of strip malls.
