Black-headed Gull (juvenile 1st winter)

Chroicocephalus ridibundus

Description:

This Black-headed Gull in its first winter plumage has retained some brown wing markings, and its legs are yellowish rather than deep orange. Its head is like the one of the winter adult, with a bold dark ear spot.

Habitat:

The shore of a large central European lake. Many other gulls and fishermen nearby.

Notes:

This species takes two years to reach ts mature plumage
