Thomisus spectabilis
This yellow-colored crab spider is a female. Body length about 1cm. This spider is common and invasive here as they the plant they live in is common here. Can you spot the spider camouflaging on the flower in the last photo? Larger specimens have been spotted, they are among the largest Thomisidae species in Sabah. The spider colony (variation / subspecies?) here are colored yellow while the specimens from the lowland are mostly white in color.
On flowering plants, prefer to live in the flower - Allamanda cathartica (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/172...) that is vastly planted in Sabah Tea Garden, Ranau, Sabah.
I had already finish uploading my 2009 photographs from Tawau Hills Park so now I am continuing to upload my spottings from Ranau and Kundasang. >>>Map accuracy : 600m diameter.
