Flower Crab Spider (Male & Female)

Thomisus sp.

Description:

Went to check on the spider yesterday, and could not find it. Eventually found on a large bush next to the lavender. When I got home this afternoon, went for inspection again and found her with a suitor. The big female is about 15 mm in diameter, and the male is really tiny, only about 3 mm. He had to duck and dive to keep out of her clutches. In the last photo you can see her bringing her legs up to sweep him off her back.
