Six-spotted Fishing Spider

Dolomedes triton

Habitat:

Found on the margins of quiet lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. Sometimes even found floating on the surface of swimming pools in urban situations.

Notes:

I believe this is a male due to the very slender abdomen and the darker brown color, though I couldn't get a clear shot of the pedipalps. It would move very quickly on the water surface (seemingly gliding or ice skating) from bits of floating vegetation to another, including the patch of scum or Periphyton in the second picture.
