Pantala flavescens
Around 8 cm from head to tail-tip and looks like it is well camouflaged for life in a desert with a sand-coloured body. The abdomen is visibly segmented, and has a black stripe running down the middle. The wings are transparent with a yellow marking (stigma) at the wingtip of all four wings. The eyes are slightly darker than the rest of the body and at the terminal abdominal appendages are crimson red.
