Description:

Black and yellow, marked with reddish on antennae. Note constrictions between abdominal segments that help identify the genus Cerceris.

Habitat:

Found this in a friend's garden in Redondo Beach.

Notes:

Males are territorial, and this one was periodically perching, on the lookout for females and competing males.
