Black Witch Moth

Ascalapha odorata

Description:

Large dark gray moth with iridescent patches and stripes on the upper side of the winds that are blueish when viewed from the right angle.

Habitat:

Here it was resting under the overhang of a shed near some orange trees. Often found near trees with sweet fruit, like mangoes and bananas.
