Description:

Though native to Alaska, this species was introduced to Kodiak Island. No other hares or rabbits are found here. Shown here it is in its brown summer coat, and it will turn white for winter.

Habitat:

Found in a grassy area near the beach in a residential area (Coast Guard Base)
