Frog (juvenile)

Pristimantis sp.

Description:

Frog found in La Selva Biological Station, owned by Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS), and located in Sarapiquí, Costa Rica. I don't know the species but inicially I thoughtI was a juvenile from a Craugastor species. However, in comments somebody told me that this is a Pristimantis ridens or P. caryophyllaceus, and therefore I will name its scientific name as Pristimantis sp. I will continue investigating.

Habitat:

On a leave in a trail.

Really could be a P. ridens. For now I'll name the scientific name as Pristimantis sp. while get more info. Thanks Brendan.

This looks like a juvenile Pristimantis ridens (formerly Eleutherodactylus). The brown W shape on the back, eye coloration and tubercles all point to that. It's possible however that maybe it's a P. caryophyllaceus. Although that species is a bit more uncommon.
